Natural Migraine Remedies: Exercise



For a large portion of the population, a headache is not just a simple condition that can be remedied with a dose of over-the-counter pain medication - it's more of a nightmare that can last for days.  While there are more and more migraine medications being developed each year, many people are looking for a more natural solution. 

Exercise

Although doctors and other health experts have been recommending exercise for the prevention of migraines for a long time, there is now a study from the University of Gothenburg in Sweden that suggests that exercise may be just as effective as taking some medications at treating and preventing migraine headaches.

Exercise works to reduce tension and stress which are well-known triggers for migraines.  Exercise is also responsible for the release of endorphins which act as a mild sedative.
